It is very nice and smooth but didn't really like how the flowers are still on the wires it shows a lot may be next time group the individual flowers together but removing the flowers from the wire or trimming it I think that might help the flowers but over all just looking at it it is very impressive just trying to help I still can't get a smooth cake like yours icon_mad.gif

Cakedecor, you read my mind. I LOVE the icing and letters, but the flowers are a complete turn off to me. The flowers are sticking up too high and not resting on the cake gracefully. I also like the color of the ribbon and letters.

Thank you everyone! I didn't particularly like the flowers that way either but the mother of the bride wanted them like that. icon_confused.gif
My icing is smooth thanks to the icer tip and VIVA paper towels!! icon_biggrin.gif

Very nice job! You should be proud of yourself. I have to say that some of my best work comes from something I don't have time to give much thought to! LOL

You mentioned an "Icer Tip". Where do you get one of those???

You only charged 100 dollars for those 3 cakes? Why they stole those unless they are 4 inch, 6 inch and an 8 inch cake....

Nicely done but you should have charged way more ESPECIALLY since you had so short of notice to do one...

Can you give us some tips on using the icer tip? I've heard mixed reviews.

Lovely cakes. I especially like the monogram-style letter. Did you do that freehand? Gorgeous!

mqguffey... I LOVE the icer tip!! I have tried all different ways for getting smooth icing and this is the best!I go around and on top of the cake with the icer tip....I then take my spatula and go over the sides ONCE... then rinse the spatula off with HOT water.... go over the top from the outside edges in ONCE. I wait for the icing to crust... then use my VIVA paper towels and smooth it usually only 1 time. I don't have perfect edges but at least it is smooth!! icon_biggrin.gif

The lettering is free hand also ( but with LOTS of practice! icon_lol.gif )

sundine2, the cake was 10,8 and 6. Ireally didn't know what to charge since it was my first one. icon_confused.gif

Thank you all for your compliments though!!

(kinda good for my confidence!! icon_wink.gif )

Thank you, tlnewman, for sending me a photo of that tip!!! I feel like such a dork for not knowing what you were referring to. Once you sent me the picture, I remembered seeing one of those before. Okay, now I will try it just as soon as I can.

Geez! I am grateful for this website and for all of you!! Since I am so way out here in the boonies, you guys are my only chance of learning anything! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
