Hey Yall,

I am having to make a cake for a birthday party for thursday..I am already making the flowers...i am needing a dark purple and all i have is violet..how do i achieve this color?

Thanks to ahmommy for the inspiration...i am only making the bottom layer..thank goodness..lol

Not sure how much help this is, but here is the tutorial on coloring icing from CC. Red and blue make purple, so if you have those colors, you might be able to darken what you got??

Ohh found the Wilton color wheel. It says for plum to use violet with x-mas red. Maybe you have that color around??

thanks newbee, i mixed blue and red and it came out some kinda funky color..lol...was more of a blue than a purple..

i tried mixing a few colors..havent tried the violet w/red..ill try that right now and let you know if it works
