Am I the only one who doesn't just absolutely LOVE the show Ace of Cakes??? Please don't get me wrong, I don't hate the show, but I don't gush over it either.

Just wondering. I feel like I am in the minority here...like I shouldn't say anything negative about Duff and/or his show.

i watch it but i'm not like crazy over it, just something to watch that has a topic that interests me. everyone is entitled to their opinion so you shouldnt feel like you cant say something negative. i'm new to cake deco and i didnt even know who duff was until i heard about his show and then saw him on the cake competition.

I love Ace of Cakes. I TiVo it and watch it all the time. You can get alot of good ideas from that show. I like the fact that he hired and trained his friends to help him decorate. Gives hope to all of us non-pastry chefs! icon_biggrin.gif

jstritt - you're not the only one. I've watch a couple of the shows since reading about it here on CC. Its okay. I'd rather see more about the cakes than the people. After a cake is done you hardly get a good look at it - I guess their afraid someone will still their ideas.

It is ok, if nothing else is on I will watch it. It is missing something at least for me.

No, I agree. It's fun to watch and I might get an idea here of there, but it's not what I expected. I'd like to see more cakes like the episode when he had to do 27 (I think it was 27).

I love it! I do wish it was a how to show but I understand that its for entertainment. If I ever get to have a bakery I want it to be as fun as Charm City Cakes icon_smile.gif Now we just need some of the other great cake people to get shows like Collette Peters, Debbie Brown, Toba Garrett just to name a few.
