Are you having some specific problem with cutting them? For me, cutting a fondant cake is just the same, if not a little easier, than cutting a buttercream cake?

I've found a longer, slightly serrated cake knife makes it a little easier.

well, the problem is with the fondant -- when the cake is cut the fondant seems to want to fold or fall off making the slice not so pretty.....i know it probably isnt a big deal, just wondered if there was a way to make each slice stay pretty! icon_smile.gif

I prefer a long, thin-bladed knife with serration. Dip it into water between each slice. Be ready with a gloved hand or cake server to "catch" the slice as it comes off the cake.

I only really make cakes covered in fondant, and i don't seem to have any trouble with the fondant falling or folding, i always cover my sponge with a very thin layer of buttercream before i cover with fondant and i don't have any trouble.. hth
