I agree with Doug...Boston is a great city (except for the red sox icon_razz.gif ). Its only 3 weeks so what do you have to lose?!?! Do you know anyone there who could reccommend some good places for you to apply?

Good Luck!!

to those around you icon_razz.gif !!!!!!!!!!!

party poopers

oh them of little faith and imagination

I note your tag -- imagine if Disney had never taken a chance on:
a mouse?
an orange grove?
a swamp?

follow his lead --- and follow your dreams

(tossing in one star, one cricket, and visit from Tink and a whole ton of fairy/pixie dust to help make those dreams come true)

I am just curious, are you planning to move to Boston, from California?
Why? California has some top notch bakeries. I am not trying to discourage the move, but having relatives there, there is a big difference in the people, culture, and California its not. I lived in New York for years when I was young, and have visited since. Alot of my relatives are spread all over that part of the country. I am orginally from CA, but transplanted to Texas now for many years. When I visit my relatives, I am always so glad to be home, I find the people very rude, abrupt, curt, and stuck up. I personally find Boston, crowded, expensive, and some of the worst food in the world, I did enjoy some of the sightseeing. Sorry, to those who live in those areas and I won't elaborate on my many experiences, but just curious when there are so many places in this country with excellent bakeries. I would think a nice well-placed resume would welcome a Le Cordon Bleu studant. I do have a cousin there, if your set on Boson I could call her and ask her about some of the places there, just p.m. me, if this would help. Please do not take offense at my feelings, I just think there is so much more out there, of course if you have family there then that's different. Good Luck.

I will send you an e-mail of my friend who works for a cooking show on PBS in Boston. She may be able to help you out with ideas for bakeries.....

OK, you must stop listing to them, I was asked to be a baker at the 1996 Olympics and to be honest with you that fact that i did not do it is on of the very few things that i would change in my life. Take a chance , it is for three weeks and if could change your life for the better. Either way it is only three weeks out of 52 weeks in a years, 21 days out of 365 days in a year. Do it and enjoy your self. Don't give your self a chance to regret it.

Go to Boston.. we have some of the best of the best in the Culinary world here too. It's a great city (ESPECIALLY the Red Sox icon_wink.gificon_wink.gif ). It's 3 weeks.. in a new place.. you will have a blast. Seriously.. it's a time you will never forget for the rest of your life even if you don't end up moving out this way in the long run. if you don't do this now.. you will kick yourself later. TONS of luck sweetie!!
