I can make the orhcids, but I have no idea how or where I can even buy the rest! The wedding is in Sept and she still hasn't put a deposit down! Any ideas? Thanks Donna

i don't know what red ginger is but i was thinking the large thin leaf cutter in the gumpaste kit could be modified to make a bird of paradise. i found this website that might help you if decide to make one yourself. ifhttp://www.teachartathome.com/BirdofParadisePastel.html

I wouldn't even look on into the stuff anymore until she puts a deposit down. Birds of paradise aren't that hard, but they do take a little time and practice (like anything I guess). and these aren't cheap! well, they shouldn't be.

I find Birds of paradise one of the more time consuming flowers, especially if you want them to look realistic. You would have to order the cutter set and supplies to make them. If you want some really beautiful gumpaste flowers you should check out Stewart Feldman's website, he is a member of CC and does wonderful work. Next thought would be to buy silk from Michaels. Either way I would make sure she paid for the flowers in advance, including tax and shipping fees. Here is a link to Stewarts flowers, click on each thumbnail to see each flowers detail.
