Hi...I searched the forums and found that many of you use a box mix, an extra egg and pudding. Question - does this remove the box mix taste of a yellow cake? Also - would it be too moist to torte?

Thanks!

I only use a box mix. I never add the extra egg or pudding. I play around with the flavorings. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I do this all the time, with the DH mix and I have never had a problem torting the cake.

As far as removing the box taste, it does alter the taste a little. I don't use yellow cake mixes (I use butter mix in stead) so I can't help with that one.

I use box mixes and use 1tsp of butter flavoring in the yellow cakes mixes. It helps.

I use the extender recipe. It makes every cake taste like scratch. I never knew what it was till I found this site. Once I stared using it, I received soooo many compliments!!! People say the cake tastes like "gourmet" cake!
