I did it, I did it! Anyone who read my last thread on the subject will probably remember the bet I had with my husband.... air brush, less than $30.00.... okay, the aquarium pump did not work (I know, bummer!), however, I still fell under my $30.00 because the air compressor in my NEBULIZER works perfectly! I know, I know, the nebulizer costs a good $50.00, but I didn't have to buy it since I already had one, so in a sense I'm still under my $30.00. So to my doubting DH I say..... Booyah!!! In your face!

Alton would be proud of me! Taking a uni-tasker and making it into a multi-tasker. I'm so giddy!

Oh, man. I wish I would have thought of that. We have a nebulizer that has only been used three times. I went out and bought a KopyKake, so now I am out $150 when I could have only been out for the airbrush. Oh well. I hope it will be worth it in the long run. If the Kopykake quits working, at least I have a backup!!

Thanks for the info.

I have been using a nebulizer for years and it works just fine. I picked it up at a garage sale for 2.00. icon_lol.gif .

My son uses a nebulizer for taking breathing treatments for his asthma. Basically it's just an air compressor.

A Nebulizer is a machine for people who suffer with asthma. They plug it in and it blows air/mist toward their face to help them breathe. I think sometimes they can put medicine into it also. Probably one of the people who use it can help more, but that's the main idea. It kind of looks like a vaporizer with a tube and sometimes a small mask on it. Cool alternative usage.

A nebulizer is a device that is normally used to deliver respiratory medicine in a breathable mist. I could see how that could be modified to deliver color in a spray mist. icon_smile.gif

Alright, I think my son could spare his every once in a while for me to use it. I mean I do get up with him in the middle of the night to give him his treatments. I could get some kind of reward for it right? NOW, please, I'm dying here. How do you do it? Do I need to get one of those pen thingys? And some airbrush color? I'm so excited. Please Debsuewoo...before I inhale to much albuterol..tell us all. lol

Ok.... I bought a air brush off of E-bay (just your basic model, glass bottle, single action) and I got some aquarium hose. I attached the hose to the bottom of the gun and cut a comfortable length for me to use and attached it to the nebulizer. Easy peasy. If you can't get the hose over the connector nub on the nebulizer, use the hose that comes with the nebulizer.... the aquarium hose will slide nicely into the connector on the nebulizer hose. DO NOT cut the nebulizer hose unless you no longer need the machine for breathing treatments!!!! (That's for those of use who get too excited about things and don't think aboaut things until we do them)

Would I need the aquarium hose if I have plenty of the neb hoses? I have a whole bunch of them. I even have one that has an attachment to add another to the end of it. lol. (they will do anything to keep a kid asleep in the hospital) lol. Thanks for the warning. In my excitement, I suppose I might have snatched the nebulizer away mid-treatment. lol jk.

Hello everyone, I bought the airbursh kit and used my daughters nebulizer. It works wonderfully. However, I have a question about the paint, can i mix some vanilla extract with the color to liquify it, so that way it can be easier to spray. Or do i Have to buy the airbrush edible paint? I use wilton and americolor colors. By the way thanks to the person who helped us with the idea. And it only cost me $17. icon_lol.gif

I'm not sure if anyone can help me or not. I have 2 nebulizers and i just bought an airbrush from harbor freight. Now what do I do. I tried playing around with it by just adding food coloring to water to see if I could get it to spray and nothing happened. I could feel air coming out of the airbrush but no paint would spray out. Was I doing something wrong or did I just mess it up

Where's Mrs. Alton? We still have lots of questions to be answered on this subject. I know everything there's to know about the nebulizer but completely lost on the coversion to airbrush machine. Can anyone post a picture and explain, pretty please? Is this safe??? Thanks!
