What is the best way to make fondant acorns? Or would it be easier to make them with something else? I want them to add to a fall themed cake.

well, what I did was pinch off a pc. of green fondant, made a small ball and used my hands to shape it. I kept rolling (one end) sort of in a very light pinching motion between my finger until it became pointy.
Then flatten the other end.

For the brown part. I roll out a small pc of brown fondant, cut a small circle and attached it to the "flat" end of the green fondant pc.

Then took a very, very small pc of brown and shape it like the size of a dragee or pearl ,then I attached it to the center of the brown part.

Then around the edge of the brown part, I added ridges going around by using a dull knife.

I hope I explained this enough for you.. icon_smile.gif You can PM me if you need more info.. icon_smile.gif

No, I didn't since on this cake , I specifically wanted the Pumpkins, leaves and roses to stand out more than the rest . icon_smile.gif

Prettycake...your cake is beautiful. How did you make the leaves? Do you have a special cutter?

Thank you... icon_smile.gif I used cookie cutters, then added the veins w/ a smal lknife then added lustre dust.. I did somthing like this years ago, and I used real Maple leaves as my template, they came much bigger. icon_smile.gif
