I am making a baseball themed cake and I am modeling hotdogs, hamburgers, pretzels, baseball bats and balls and popcorn to adorn the base of the cake. I can't seem to get the popcorn right. I remember someone saying that they cut miniature marshmallows into a popcorn-like shape.

Any ideas?

Wow moydear77...your website is awesome. I love the pink wedding cake (Hum wedding) and the cake with the sugar bubbles. Are the flowers on the Hum wedding cake sugarpaste? My daughter wants a pink wedding cake and is thinking of having roses on it. I love the look of that cake.
How do you make the sugar bubbles? Would you mind sharing that info? You can pm me if you want.

How did you make the popcorn on the cakes? Cute!

The Hum cake is actually real flowers. They were traveling to New Jersey with the cake so for the sake of breakage I used real.

The pocorn is done by using a small ball of fondant and sticking a small flower on it. I use a small five petal cutter. Just cut the flower from fondant and emboss with round ball tool. Using a star tip fondant tool insert the flower into the ball. I air brushed with yellow.

As far as sugar bubble there are many tutorials available. Sugar is a medium that is quite dangerous to work with. Basically you take you basic boiled sugar recipe, leave to soften under a heat lamp, Take a bit of sugar apply to the end of a pump and gently add air to inflate the bubble. It is an advanced technique I think. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks so much for the info on the cakes and popcorn. I figured the sugar bubbles are a bit out of my league right now but they sure look beautiful. I am showing your Hum cake to my daughter...it is beautiful and I can do the gumpaste flowers for it. She wants a pink cake for her wedding. Do you remember what pink you used on the cake? I love your work. Everyone is so talented on this board.
