One of my favorite websites is

if you look under decorated cakes, adult birthday, there is a martini glass cake that is very cute. while the glass and drink are different it is an idea.

good luck.

I've actually made cupcake margaritas for a Poker Party by using white cake mix, adding sugar-free lime jello mix and using Tequila in place of the water. I mixed Tequila in the frosing and put sugar crystals around the rim of the cupcake and candy lime wedges on the corner. They tasted just like a margarita and everyone loved them. It was a lot of fun icon_razz.gif (I also made Strawberry Daquaris and Pina Coladas the same way). icon_biggrin.gif

srski, that recipe sounds soo... yummy! I think that will definately be the cake recipe I use. StepOnmi, I actually have that cake in my favs, I'm going to try and contace him/her, The directions posted left me scratching my head. Not very specific on constructing the Glass itself. But I think she would love, love, love it icon_biggrin.gif

or check out my favorites and change my martini cake into margarita cake don't forget to but sugar crystals around the edge of the margarita glasses for the real affect.

Thanks for the pics, they are great! Simplysweetbygigi, how did you get the top glass to stand like that? Is there something through the center of it? I'm so excited for this cake, what fun!

This might not be any help at all because I saw this only in passing and didn't pay much attention to it-but I believe there is a margarita flavored jello out right now for summertime. Can you put a box of jello in your mix like you do pudding? Sorry if it can't be done, I just immediately thought about it when I saw this thread.

There is margarita and strawberry jello out right now. I just got some. Used one box in a white cake mix and an extra egg. It was really good, a slight lime color. Be sure to whisk the cake mix/dry ingredients and the jello mix together before adding anything else. Good luck!

I just picked up the margarita Jello this morning. I figured I could replace it with the lime. Funny I come back here and you're talking about the same thing! thumbs_up.gif I hope it tastes as good as it sounds.

I was also asked to do a margaritaville type shower cake. I found some margarita glasses at Dollar Tree, small plastic margarita glasses at Party America, and Walmart has the margarita flavored jello. I am thinking about doing three different cakes and place them on a stand from Wilton. Maybe incorporating different aspects from the song.

Here is a link to a cake I did for my mom's 50th birthday party...btw...the butterfly on the cake looks a bit out of place, but she loves butterflies so I had to include one somehow! Good Luck!
