you sure can add creme bouquet to your buttercream but it won't have a real buttery taste though. it will taste more citrusy. if you want a real buttery taste i think you may want to add butter flavoring.

I guess when I see Butter cream
I thought it would have butter in it, but I only saw shortening.
Ok butter flavoring makes since ...Duh icon_confused.gif
Thank you I will try it and see how it turns out
Can you add just about any flavoring to get the taste your looking for?
Example: Orange flavoring

You can add any flavorings you want - I love creme royal - it makes buttercream taste almost butterscotch-y to me and the smell is soooooooooo good!

I don't know if many know this, probably do, but sometimes you can find the Lorann Oils at your local pharmacy too. I've never understood why they have displays on the pharmacy counters, but for as far back as I can remember, from making rock candy with my mom as a kid, that's where we've always bought it.

Of course, now I buy it at the cake supply stores, or hobby stores. Sadly, the hobby stores usually have limited flavors.

If you can't find them, though.. you can always get the "normal" flavor extracts at your grocer in the baking aisle. (they just aren't quite as potent)

Hope this helps, even though it is mostly just rambling. icon_biggrin.gif
