I am going to attempt to make a baseball cap cake for my 31 year old son for his birthday. I need some tips on how to make the bill on the cap and when to put the stitchlike designs on the bill and cap. just after i put the fondant on or, after the fondant dries. Any help is appreciated. thanks!!

What i have done is to make the bill out of gumpaste, put the stitching on when the bill is wet, and dry over a real hat brim.

I made one too and did the same as Peg818, except I used half gumpaste and half fondant. I dried it under a desk lamp and it was stiff in about 24 hours.

thanks! icon_biggrin.gif I used 1/2 fondant andf 1/2 wilton already made gumpaste. (that stuff gets hard quick, I used it to make my willton course 4 gumpaste flowers and noticed that you have to work quick or it will get hard on you
before you finish the flower) Now how long will it dry without anything?
