I have a book on modeling figures...though I've never done it. Check your library to see if they have anything that would give you pointers. Maybe this will get your question to the top of the heap, and someone experienced with this can help.

I've always used 1/2 and 1/2 fondant and gumpaste. I found that for me (a newbie at figures) the gumpaste dried too quickly and became hard to manage and the fondant dried too slowly - figures collapsed. Let us know how you get on! thumbs_up.gif

I would suggest PM'ing someone that's done Disney characters out of gumpaste or fondant or fondpaste icon_biggrin.gif lol... I'm tired lol..

I'd PM them and ask them if there are any special things you need to be doing or be on the look out for while doing it.....

If you want 2D characters, you can use colorflow. I get a picture of the character I want from a coloring book or online. Outline and fill in with the colorflow. Works great. Wish I could show you some photos. I have to figure out how to do that! HTH

There is a book in spanish called "tortas decoradas" it means "decorated cakes" - it's awesome, all the disney characters...Woody, Cinderella, monsters inc, etc. Unfortunately, they don't print it in English but the pictures are great!
