How many people exactly does she need to feed? That's the first place to start so you don't have too much or too little!

First just breath, it will be just fine. Now you need to find out how many people this is to serve and then you can figure out what size pans to use. Then after that it is just like making 2 cakes but you are just going to stack them. Good luck!

She is only needing to feed 25-30. It is a small reception--Thank Goodness!!

I would do a 6/8/10" that way she will have an anniversary cake. If she is not looking to have an anniversary cake I would go with a 8/10".

Forgot to ask-does the bride want to save the top tier for the 1st anniversary or will it be served?

If both tiers will be served you could do a 6 and 9in rounds. If it won't be served you could do a 6 and 10. I'm kind of going between the wilton party and wedding amounts. Make sure the person cutting the cake knows the chart and how to cut the cake.

yes, a 2 layer 10" usually serves 25-28 and and 8 would be another 10 servings.
That should be more than enough. Those are party size servings and typically wedding servings are cut smaller.

You will do fine!
