Hi all. and thanks for all the great ideas/tips/recipes etc!
I am in Autralia and, from what I understand, our cake mixes are VERY different to those found in the US. If I were to offer a customer a cake made from a box here, I'd probably be run out of town! icon_eek.gif
I've been dying to try the WASC. Can anyone suggest a recipe that does not include a box mix? Can't get the white cake mix here for love or money. (Well, maybe money, but I don't have that much!) Thank you!!

here's one

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_7982,00.html

and if you google "white cake recipe"

be sure to look for ones that use only egg whites....

that's what makes a white cake white

and yes, can use whole egg BUT that will "tint" the cake -- how much depends upon how dark the egg yolks are.

also -- use the palest/whitest butter you can find.
some substitute oil for the butter if they can only find yellow butter.

As always - you are all right there to help!
Thank you very much - I have checked out those links and am all set to give it a try in the a.m. After I have bought the Harry Potter book... and maybe checked out a couple of pages........ Oh, dear!! icon_redface.gif Does that admission get me thrown off CC? I mean, read when you could be baking? Oh, the shame, the shame...
