Mixing a doctored white cake mix with my best friend... Kitchen Aid 6 qt. mixer-
and wondering which attachment is best???

Paddle. The wire wisk is meant to add air, which would add bubbles to your cake.

Paddle, and this is not technically a personal preference, or maybe it is, I'm not telling ;-}

The whip is for whipping cream, meringue, angel food cake. The paddle, cakes, creaming butter and sugar, icing etc, and of course the hook for your doughs for bread rolls etc.
