I ran into a new cosignment shop here and I am thinking about placing some things for sale, but I wanted to check with others to see if the fees/percentage was good.
They charge $25 to consign for the year then every three months you get a check for 40% of what you sold. Is that normal/good?

That sounds very expensive.... your profit margin would be higher on ebay but if you want to not have to worry about the listing/shipping, etc. then the shop would be easier.

Will they buy the items from you....or will you have to wait for them to be sold before you make any profit?

Honestly, it sounds like a lot to me....I live pretty close to 3 consignment shops and that kinda sounds expensive.

I've never even heard of a yearly charge.

Your profit margin would definitely be higher on ebay! But, ebay isn't for everyone. Could you possibly have a yardsale? Could you maybe just take your items to goodwill and donate? I think it's tax deductible....I'm not 100% sure on that, but I think that's what my sil said and she has an ebay store.......and she gets most of her items from consignment shops & good will.

Good Luck to you!!!!
