i need some words of encouragement here...i cannot believe it but my oven just went out. i went to bake a cake that is due tomorrow and my oven will not heat. my oven reads 135 degrees but its cold. i have an order that is due tomorrow. four cakes on saturday and my best friend's wedding cake as well as her cookie favors for next weekend. i have no idea how much a new oven is going to cost me nor how long it will take to get up and running again. i can just scream.

I am so sorry, what totally helpless and overwhelming feelings you must be going through. I hope you can get it fixed or get a new one really quickly! Hang in there!!

i think for tomorrow's order i'm just going to haul all of my stuff to my aunt's house and use her oven. my only worry is that my 4 month old just got immunization shots today and he might not feel up to just sitting there while mommy bakes tomorrow.

Oh boy, that sounds bad. I'd offer you the use of my oven, but I'm just too far away. Any chance of asking your neighbour to help out and repay her with a nice cake, just for her? Wish you the best of luck.

What kind of oven is it? If its electric check to see if the element is burned out, most of them you can see the element and it may look different then normal (the bottom one is usually the one used in baking) If thats the case call the local dealer give make and model, then hot foot it into town to pick it up. You can replace it yourself, most just plug right in.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that. I had that happen to me on the Monday before Thanksgiving and I was the one hosting dinner and had out of town family arriving on Tuesday night . I called every appliance store and found one in stock and luckly my hubby knows how to install them. Maybe you can try that. Also places like Lowes will sell the one of the floor if you are in a real pinch. Good luck

thanks guys. but unfortunately it isn't the element. but that's ok. my hubby says that he's been looking to buy me a double convection oven as a surprise so now this just means i'm going to get it sooner! yay! and of course, thanks to all of you fabulous cc's i've found several ways to do things in advance that i never even thought of. so now i can prepare and when my oven is finally installed i can start baking immediately!
