Hi: New to forum, there is a great wealth of information here and hope to find my answer. Need to know what the best recipie for molding figures on a cake would be. Need to be completely edible. Would like to construct a sleeping child on a armchair. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

well, there is gum paste, Fondant, or Candy clay (Molding Chocolate).
These are all edible.. I myself do not use
non edible on my cakes. Whether it's ribbons or pearls, I use everything edible, except the board it's sitting on. Do you have photos of how you want it to look like ? Have you done molding before ? there is a lot of very cute ones in the gallery like the one Doug is suggesting.

BTW, welcome ot Cake Central, you will like it here..everyone here is so nice and helpful.. You get answers or suggestions more than you might need. icon_smile.gif

Hi prettycake. I was hoping to use fondant, but was not sure what is the best material to use. I have not worked with candy clay so not sure which would be best. Don't have a pic or anything, just using my imagination as I am entering a local contest for the Festival of Trees here and that is one of the elements I want on the cake. Any advise or recipe's are helpful.

Thanks for the welcome. I am looking forward to being a part of the gang here.

On left side of screen in MY ACCOUNT box...

click on PRIVATE MESSAGES (called PM for short around here... as in PM her)

click on the NEW POST button (on left in blue)

put her name in USERNAME

give it a title (like -- a question for you. or May I please have some help...)

then type your question/comment in main window of form.

and then click on SUBMIT to send it to her.

It will go to your OUTBOX where it will stay until she reads it whereupon it will transfer to your SENTBOX.
--------------

you will also notice at the bottom of each post here a little PM button -- click on it and you can immediatley send a PM (private message) to the person who wrote the post.

and the profile button links you to their profile and from there you can click on a link to all their pictures or all their posts.
