To attached molded chocolates (happy faces made from Candy Melts) to the sides of a cake iced in BC? If so, what do I use as the chocolate adhesive?

I saw an idea on the Wilton Website (they use Fondant for the happy faces) which I would like to adapt to my design.

I like to make chocolates as well as cakes and I thought if it is possible it would be the best of both worlds.

Thanks for your input and ideas

I don't see why you couldn't attach them with BC just like you would royal flowers.

if they aren't really heavy, you could maybe even use a glob of bc to attach, just kind of push them on. the royal should hold good.

Yes - I have done this with molded candy melts (in my pics - the sand castle cake).

What I did was insert toothpicks into the candy melts before they firmed back up. Once the chocolate got hard, the toohpicks were stuck in the candy.

To put them on the cake I did dab a little bit of buttercream on the back of the candy and then just inserted the toothpick into the cake.

I was thinking of the toothpick idea. That sounds great. Thanks!

Yes you can and I didn't even use the toothpicks. Take a look a the sun cake in my photos. The clouds on the sides were attached with buttercream only.

: )
