i am going to attempt cake balls this afternoon. i have some left-over yellow cake so i'm going to do some chocolate coconut cake balls. i have a little problem though. the creamer i have is in powdered form and i'm not sure if i can use this as the binder for the cake balls. does anyone know? should i mix it with some kind of liquid?

sorry for the ignorance. i'm very new at this. icon_smile.gif

TIA

You could just use milk and add some of the powdered creamer to the mixture. You can pretty much do whatever you want with cake balls. Just use what you have and experiment untill you find something that tastes good! It's really hard to go wrong. icon_smile.gif

I would mix it with water instead of milk--especially if they are going to be sitting out for very long. If they will be refrigerated until served then milk would be fine.

No one in my family drinks coffee and the creamer kept going bad so I started using the powdered kind a few months back. I mix the powder about 50/50 with warm water.

I also add it to my cake mixes too icon_lol.gif

ok, CC wasn't working for me for a while there so i couldn't get in to see any responses. so, i went ahead and tried water with the powdered creamer. it seemed fine. i thought about milk but i was afraid i couldn't leave them out if i did that so i went with the water.
they are sitting right now. i used chambord (raspberry liquer) in some and coconut creme creamer in a few. this was soooooooooo fun! i made chocolate chip raspberry, chocolate coconut and chocolate raspberry coconut! i can't wait to coat them in chocolate! ...maybe i'll roll some in coconut after i dip them in the chocolate. (can ya tell i'm a fan of coconut icon_smile.gif

thanks for your suggestions.

Ok all this talk about cake balls......... I now have a yellow cake in the oven baking just to make balls out of it, lol. I was looking to see what I have around to make the cake balls with and I have a small container of strawberry glaze, has anyone ever used this before? This will be my first time making cake balls.

Thanks, Vanaya for the link. My family was getting tired of eating just plain cake tops. Now I have something new to try. I can't wait to surprise them!
