This is a freebie I did today to help drum up some business. I HATE my lettering. Am I being too critical? I don't know if I should give it to her or not.

Nicely decorated cake, but does she have a sense of humor?

Yeah, that's a new one! I have done "getting a boob job" cakes, "divorce" cakes, and even a joke about hitting a wild animal with a car, but never seen a hysterectomy cake! Yeah, I hope she has a sense of humor! icon_biggrin.gif

I'd have to agree. Don't give her that cake unless she is looking forward to the hysterectomy. That is a real personal thing with most, if not all, women.

I'm sorry...this really turns me off. I don't think I'd even accept a piece of it. Just my opinion.

She's got a great sense of humor and past the age of fertility. She's glad to be done w/the problems the ol' uterus has been causing. I'd never dream of giving her the cake if I thought it would offend her in any way.

I thing personal taste is subjective! I LOVE THIS !!!

I would've made a cake "UTERUS"..hahahah!

have you been to

www.theyrecoming.com

I had mine at 25 and while this cake is subjective I think it is a hoot. It most certainly does relate to the receiver and I am sure that was taken into consideration. I have a "naughty cake" to do at the end of the month and I am always a little uneasy to make sure I don't cross the line...but since she is a personal friend-you know her best!

Since it seems that she will get a kick out of it then its a great idea lol. I have a friend who recently had to have one and it would have been awful for her to get a cake like that under her circumstances BUT this seems like a totally different situation so good luck drumming up the business!!!

When I had mine I was more afraid of the surgery but not of getting rid of the 'ole uterus. I think it's very thoughtful of you. Next time "bye bye baby good bye" with musical notes?

It's gross but that just means she did a good job of getting the point across. Nothing I would want to eat by my kids would love it!
They are so weird.

My sister is thinking of having one soon and when I saw this my first thought was "I have to do that for my sister". I think it is a crack up.

I also love the site with the gross cakes. I know many people who would love having one of them.

This is pretty funny only of course if the person getting it thinks is funny. I'm glad your friend does though!!!! When my husband had a vasectomy three weeks ago, he asked if I was gonna make him a Happy Vasectomy cake. I said no I was insulted !!!t on earth made him think he deserves a cake for getting a vasectomy!!!!!!!!! I also told him day he makes me a Happy Childbirth cake will be the day I make him a cake for him getting a vesectomy. I actually was offended by the idea that he thought he was a hero for getting a vasectomy!!!Sorry mister you still have too easy!!!

I looked at those gross cakes. Although they are quite disgusting, they are strikingly realistic and incredibly artistic. I think they are amazing. She did that with sugar!!! icon_surprised.gif I'm impressed.

I agree, I went back to the web site to show my honey (he was grossed out) and checked out how she made them. Really cool, I may try a toned down version for halloween. Picked up some things to use with other cakes.

I think the cake is a great way handle the situation. She's happy it's gone, and she gets cake. It's a win-win.

I checked out the "they'recoming" cakes. I thought they were very well done and creative.

It takes ALOT to gross me out. I'm a nurse by profession and my friend who had the hysterectomy is a doctor. She was touched. She's not easily grossed out either!
