My darling son who is going to be 9 October 26th, wants a wildlife birthday party. My first thought was wild african animals, snakes etc., but nooooooo, he wants whitetail deer, black bear and trout. Help. I thought about a Steve Irwin type party as he was/is his idol, but he took it hard when he died so that's out. Any ideas? I do have a while, but thought I should start getting things ready as it will come fast.

TIA
Karen

no advice, but i would like to know as well. My soon to be 12 yr old wants something similar. He did say he wanted rain forest animal. I have no idea how to make them. He tried going a different way as well and asked for a Tropical Rain Forest (like the one they have in Puerto Rico). Now he's asking for a miracle.

what about making a big mountain cake...........and put it on a nice big board and decorate the cake board like some dirt and stuff as it comes down the mountain, fading into grass, and some woodlands. Make some of the ice cream cone pine trees all over the place, with a little stream coming down the mountain and across the cake board...you could make a fondant fish (trout) jumping out of the water, maybe a bear standing on the banks trying to swat at it......a deer in the woods........A.C. Moore has really nice plastic wildlife animals if you don't want to mold them!

We did! that's where my son got the idea from. The only good thing about it is that i was planning on doing a 2-1 party. For him (12) and my daughter turning 2. I thought about doing animals for her too, so that works for us.
Those cakes were awesome!! i loved the other one w/all the sugar animals too.
