ok ok the bride wants us to use wilton ready made icing. She tried it on one of the cakes my cousin made. And she LOVED IT i know its crazy. Any ways for the grooms cake she wants chocolate icing. Can we add cocoa powder to the wilton ready to use to get it to taste like chocolate?

I don't see why not! You may need to add a little water so it says the same consistency for icing the cake!

Wilton does make a chocolate version of their ready made icing.

But I'm sure adding cocoa would do the trick.

If you add the cocoa powder, make sure you use a quality powder. I tried it with Hershey's cocoa powder and was not happy with the results of the flavor (it may be okay for hot chocolate or chocolate cakes, but not icing!)
However, I think mOuse has the right idea... get Wiltons ready made chocolate and avoid the worry!

just a warning...make sure you have extra powdered sugar on hand...i used the RTU icing, and i had a heck of a time getting it to do anything i wanted! It wouldn't get stiff enough to make roses, and it melted very easily. I'll never use it again.

you hand problems with the chocolate ready to use from wilton?????? hmm we able to find the wilton brand and bought some. i hope it works for us. We arent doing flowers with it just icing the cake adding a border and then the rest of the decor on this cake will be chocolate dipped strawberries.

It should work for that but you can always make your own chocolate icing.
I use the icing out of wiltons course 1 book but i change the amount of flavor.

1c solid white vegetable shortening
1/8tsp butter flavor
1/4tsp vanilla
1/2tsp almond
4tbls water
4c powder sugar
1tbls meringue powder
3/4c cocoa or 1oz unsweetened chocolate squares,melted

may need 1-2 tbls more of water.
