What is brite white? Is this a particular brand of white food coloring? I'm assuming it's used in butter-based BC to make it white? Is it also used in white cake batter? Thanks for your help!

White cakes are white because they're made without egg yolks.

I have only heard of brite white in icing and your assumption is correct. It colors the icing back to a bright white if butter has been used.
