I have been using hte cake mix extender recipes for my cakes and would like to use it for layer cakes but I love the buttermilk cakes much better. So how much buttermilk should I use instead of sour cream should I use 2 cup buttermilk, omit the sour cream and milk but keep everything else the same in the recipe. please help if you can.
thanks a lot

i forgot to add that I omit the water and add milk to the recipe. it taste more like homemade cake. so would 2 cups buttermilk be enough.
thanks again

I would keep the sour cream and use the buttermilk in place of the water.

thank you, but i think using the butter that's in the recipes along with the sour cream and buttermilk will make the cake so moist and will fall apart.

you can use any flavor. if you like strawberry then i would use strawberry flavor mix (any brand) and strawberry flavoring.
