what kind? (some are poisonous)
do they need water????? --- could stick in half ball of floral foam or the oasis.
for a bigger bouquet could even cut a hole in the middle of cake and put a vase w/ water in the whole and then the flowers -- tho' this can get messy fast.
wilton has specialty flower picks you put into the cake

if can survive w/out water --
then can just use regular styrofoam
or wire/tie together and lay atop the cake on a small cakeboard.
or could find a fancy little flower holder vase that you could use like a topper and put it on top of cake.
Its best to use a floristy bowl and oasis so the flowers and water dont come in contact with the cake
She wants pink roses similar on a half ball to look like a bouquet. Should I use a cake mound and then use the picks or just use half ball of oasis and put roses directly in there?
I've never used real roses before.
Thanks Doug and Delicate-Lee for helping me out.

Believe it or not, Doug, it's not for a bride.
It's for a baby shower for a first time mom at 50! And she doesn't want anything babyish - she wants a bouquet of pink roses for her little girl on top of the center of the cake.
So the wet oasis would be best - or the picks in the dry foam?
Thanks again
