I am planning to do a frozen buttercream transfer to be placed on a cake that i am doing for September 23rd. I am wondering if I could do the transfer this week and leave it in the freezer for a week and a couple of days, until i am ready to place it on the cake or can it only be left overnight?

yes you can make it now and store it for then. I have one I'm making today to use in a little less than 2 weeks from now.

I would recommend covering it good. so that it does not get that freezer taste!... Good luck!

I do it all the time. I put them in a large freezer bag and store them in clean pizza boxes (so I don't worry about them getting smashed by anything.) They also stack easily this way.
