How long does it normally take for poured fondant on petit fours to dry?

Hey! I just practiced on some and it took overnight (about 10 hours) to dry. I really didn't care for the poured fondant made with powdered sugar. Way too sugary for me. I think I'm going to try to candy melts, or try to make the one with white sugar cooked down. Have you made it before?
