I agree. You only get one vote ... it should be after all cakes have been submitted.

I personally think there is something a little fishy about the contest. Seems a little odd that a couple of the photos have 600 votes and the rest have just a handful. I mean no big deal if i win, it would just be nice if it were fair.

sounds to me like that's exactly what must be happening. I know if I worked for the contest, it would look like a big red flag to me.

Okay, just a vent. I hadnt checked back on the contest, because it was just looking to me that the voting was not going to be fair. Well I checked back to day...same thing. Only a couple of entries have significant amounts of votes (like 600-700 and most of the rest have 0!). Like I said, no big deal if I win, but it certainly would be nice if the most deserving person did. So I sent an email to WD saying that I love the idea for hte contest, but maybe next time the voting needs to be handled differently.

Did you elaborate on that, Merissa, or just write the quote above? Please let us know if you get an e-mail back!

I did not send a nasty email, but i did elaborate a little suggesting that the fact that most of the photos only had a few votes and a handful had 700 seemed like a redflag that something was not right with the voting. I doubt if I get a response because it says usually emails take 2-3 months to get a reply! But I just wanted them to know that it wasnt going unnoticed and I hopefully they will change the procedure next time.

I do not know the reason someone would be getting that many votes, could be just that they posted their pics first or maybe they are just the best cakes, but logic tells me the votes would be a little more evenly distributed. There are soooo many wonderful cakes there, it is just disappointing to them have 0 votes!
