I'm not sure how to upload pictures into the forum.. but in my photo album it's the 73rd birthday cake... since it's not a topsy turvy like cake... is it still considered whimsical.
o.k.....Thanks for your response...and the compliment..
Thanks for the nice comments and compliments... lou54 if you do a search for gelatin flowers you will find the instructions here on cc and/or on google.
I think although it's a beautiful cake, it's too elegant to be considered Whimsical
Great design.. very original!
Well, I've tried to search the web to find out what is considered whimsical and some cakes were playful and some were very elegant.. On Modern bride they had a great variety under whimsical so, I'm thinking that it could be anything that isn't quite traditional... Thanks to everyone that responded.![]()
Maybe I am 'cake'washed unstead of brain washed.... when I hear Whimsical as the description I invision either really bright colors, or tilted layers or funky "Dr. Seuss' cakes..... I really like the whimsical roses which are usually rolled but I looked at your cake and even though it was tilty, it had an elegance that was missing in most cakes that are categorize as 'whimsical'... the gold accent and titled top is nifty but...well, i guess you could call it 'elegant whimsy' which could be a whole new category like 'shabby chic', right?
Beautiful cake!!!
Silly me kept looking for the 73rd cake, but you only had 45 cakes posted, lol....I finally got it--duh!!!
I think whimsical is crazy funky colors and designs...I think your cake is a bit whimsical with the placement of the cakes but it's also elegant and classy looking!!!
CakeDiva73... I thought the same thing but when looking at other sites and seeing what they referred to as whimsical, I got a lil' confused...
mmdd, Thanks for the compliment.
I guess everything can't be put into a category or at least not just one... ![]()
