Do you have any candy melts...you can do the same effect of an FBCT with melted candy. Pop in the freezer and they are good to go in a 5 - 10 minutes.

Another idea, can you whip up some royal icing and do a color flow? Same as FBCT, but it needs some time to dry. I made one this morning about 10:00 and was dry enough at 6:00 to put on my cake. Just don't make it real thick.

I would definitely go w/ a color flow or a royal icing placque type of thing - you need to make your outlines with a little bit thicker royal icing and then thin the rest down to make the colors inside of the lines... give it a little time to dry imbetween doing the lines and then the colors. You may want to give each little color a little time to dry too. For example, if you have 5 areas that are yellow - do all of them and then let it dry for a little bit, then fill in your next colors.... I hope that makes sense! If not, there may be something on it on teh Wilton site - or you can look at decorating cookie sites that show you somewhat the same thing. Good luck! the candy melt thing might work too and might be a little faster - look up chocolate transfer here in the articles - you can also look in the forums for others input on those - as long as the back is fairly thick, I don't think you'll have any problems w/ it standing up - OR you could also add a little lollipop stick (if you have them around) or maybe a couple of toothpicks on the back when you are finished - attach w/ a little more melted candy - and then stick those into the cake and have the image "standing up" on the cake.... good luck!

A sugar cookie base w/design on top maybe would hold up better and you wouldnt have to wait for it to dry. You could use royal icing or buttercream icing. Just a thought for you time frame. Good Luck!

How big/heavy is the thing that needs to stand up? Is it one big thing, or several smaller things? Could it be done with cookies??? How much detail is there?

What colors do you have left to use? (RE: making black) Does the outline have to be black?

For the guy and girl, I would definitely try a different technique like the candy melts or royal icing plaque. the rice krispie treats are just not neat enough looking.

On the cake itself, do you have more white icing? looks like you need another layer to cover the crumbs on the sides of the cake. Then I would add a border to the top and bottom.

If you change these things, I think it'll look great.

hehehehe... evil thoughts brewing!!! Send him a picture of the finished cake and then let someone take a great big bite out of the top of the cake and send him a picture of that!
