It only took me one time transporting cupcakes in my car to realize that there HAS to be something better out there to transport them so they don't roll off of the side of the tray and on to my car floor when I make a turn...My genius husband actually gave me this idea and it works GREAT! I take a cookie sheet then cut a similar sized piece off of the roll of non-slip rubber matting that he has lined his tool drawers with (unused of course...it comes in a big roll so you can cut your own sizes). I put the rubber matting into the cookie sheet and put the cupcakes or cake on top. The cupcakes or cakes don't move at all when placed on it! Really helps for car trips by myself wuth just me delivering and it was super cheap (you can get it from any hardware store I'm sure)!! Hope this is helpful to you all...it was to me icon_smile.gif

Thanks cdent for the tip!!! My Wilton instructor suggested using the same material to put in my floorboard and cake carrier on top and like you say...really works and helps!!
I have a girlfriend and a sister that now swear by this for cakes, cupcakes, casseroles...everything!

Here's another idea for cupcakes.
Turn the cupcake pan upside down. Pull off a sheet of foil and mold it to the back side of the pan. Flip the foil over and voila! cupcake carrier. Just put the carrier in a box and you're good to go.

The non-stick rubber matting is great both under the cakeboard and turn table. It keeps the cake and board from shifting (esp. the small ones) and also keeps the turntable from moving on the counter.
