I posted earlier about the pillow cake and have another related question. She said she might want the layers filled with something like strawberry or raspberry, or chocolate. I have never done fillings before. Can I just use a high quality jam? What to use for the chocolate filling? Should I refrigerate for a while after filling to firm it up? TIA for info!
Oh! One more thing......... ideas for fondant brands. I have used Wilton and just don't like it, although it handles VERY nicely. I have also used Pettinice and had a disaster with it (not sure if the problem lay with me or the fondant
). Any brand info? Preferences? Something that handles easily, doesn't crack or tear easily, tastes great. FondX or Satin Ice? Should I just use MMF (that means marshmallow fondant doesn't it?
)
Again, thanks!!!!
I made a cake with a raspeberry filling not too long ago. It wasn't hard to make.
