sorry I can not help. I went to bed at 10:30 last night & woke up this am at 8:15. I have no problem sleeping.

Well on occasion I can not sleep if I have something exciting planned. Like vacation, going out of town, etc...

Hmmmm... I've had insomnia for ages now. have found taking melatonin about an hour before bed helps. However, I take three of them.

My husband and I have problems sleeping too so he takes Lunesta and I take benadryl every night. That usually works.

Twins.... Yeah, I know. All my friends with kids say the same thing - lucky me. icon_confused.gif It is at that point that I remind them of the other 25 days of the months that I am the only one taking care of 4 kids, doing at least 2-3 loads of laundry a day, cooking, cleaning, homework, yada, yada, yada... all by myself....

If I didn't have those 4 days of peace and quiet, I swear I would have lost it a lot time ago. That said, I do feel guilty that I am not more productive during the time when I don't have the kids. I am usually too whipped to move icon_smile.gif but yesterday I completely cleaned my extra room, organized all my ebay stuff, rearranged the living room, cleaned, vacuumed and mopped and when I woke up I had such a smile on my face when I saw it! So after I post here, I will get back to work so I can be happy when the little ones come home.

*** My friend has twin boys and I swear, I could never, never do it. 4 kids is no comparison to twins icon_lol.gif

I bow down to 'ya!

I need a cure for insomnia too... I've tried that Unisom stuff but even taking 1/2 of ONE leaves me drowsy until well after dinner the NEXT day.

Unfortunately, one thing that does help is not being on the computer right before the designated "bed time" icon_sad.gif

I try to read right before bed and that usually helps, but not always.

Oh cripes, you have 5 kid total...and a set of twins??? I will never complain again!! icon_eek.gif

czyadgrl: the Ambien actually worked really well, mademe drowsy and then wore off so I never, ever felt drowsy but it made me feel a little...well, I was going to say 'stoned' but let's just say, 'happy' and then I would stay awake and eat and eat and eat icon_redface.gif

twinsline7 I feel for you. Probably the jealous 14 yr old. I only have 2 and they are past the babystage 15 yr old and 7 yr old. My sister has 5 kids also. Twins first, a single girl next, then 8 yrs and another marriage later another daughter and 11 months later a boy. With ADHD know wonder she suffers from depression. The twins put her over the edge I think when they both got there girlfriend pregnant about a month apart. She is now grandma to 2 little boys a month apart. Almost twins all over again icon_cry.gif But my problem is hubby switched from 3-11 shift to 11-7 shift and I can't get to sleep without him icon_cry.gif

Not meant as medical advice.

I think the good Lord passed to us moms some sleeping disorders. When my kids where home I never could get to bed before 1am. Just had too much to do to get ready for the next day. Then I would get up by 5:30 and start all over again. I can't remember when I have slept more than 4 hours at a stretch. I still do this even though all the kids have been gone for years. I think we always have to be semi-asleep as moms, just in case the kids need us for something. When I did have a little time, I would find something to do to try and relax, even if it was a power-nap. I have tried eliminating caffeine after 4 PM, but that doesn't work, I guess I am just doomed to be nightowl and early bird. Don't take anything, was always afraid I wouldn't wake up if I needed to.
