Hi everyone - I'm making this cake recipe (from cc's recipe index) right now for my sister's 45th birthday tomorrow. I chose this one because it had 5 stars! It calls for four egg whites ... does anyone know if you're supposed to beat those before adding the cake mix? The recipe doesn't say to, so I didn't. But if anyone knows otherwise - please let me know right away - as I need to make up another batch. Thanks!

the egg whites are a binder so I don't think you have to beat them........that would only be the case if you were wanting the cake to have a lightness to it.....which I think is the opposite of what you're after LOL

I just beat the egg whites with a fork and it came out great.
