Sorry, this is long, but I am soo excited I just have to tell somebody, and my husband thinks I nuts!!! icon_confused.gif

A friend of mine called me a little bit ago and told me a lady she worked with wanted to see if I would make a cake for her. The lady and her 16 year old daughter had seen a picture of a cake I made for a member of our scrap club.(another friend from the club showed this lady the picture) Well, she asked my friend who did the cake, and my friend told her it was me. The teen's mom then asked, Is that the girl that made your little girls 1st birthday cake? (My friend's little girl is turning 2 in a couple of weeks!) The teen then says, "Mom, please ask her to make my cake, the other one was sooo cool!) icon_eek.gif

I told my friend, How cool, I have a cake following!!!! icon_eek.gificon_cool.gif I can't believe someone would remember a cake I made almost a year ago! I mean I remember my cakes because I put alot into each one and they are so much fun to make, but for someone to remeber a cake I made a year ago, that's just cool! (The cake is in my gallery, it's the pink one with the purple 1 on it and the little smash cake with the flower.)

So long story short, they want me to make a cake for the sweet 16 party. It's supposed to be a cheerleader cake.

Hey Chenson4, Congratulations!!! I noticed that you are from Arkansas. You wouldn't happen to know how to make a razorback cake would you? One of the guys in my office is retireing and I wanted to make it for him before he leaves to go back to AR.

My hairdresser came this morning to pick up her daughter's cake, and she LOVED it. (It's the stripes and poka dots in my photos) She asked how much I was charging her for it...I told her $20. She said it was too low and that it was such a great cake. I didn't want to charge her more... I wanted to keep it low for her because she always does a good job for me. After she left I looked at the check she wrote...it was for $50...I called her and thanked her...she said that the cake she bought last yr from someone was way more expensive and not near as pretty!
Anyway...just wanted to share the excitement!!

Congrats!

And the first question out of your mouth to her should be "What is your budget?" And then figure out something cool you can do in that budget.

: )
