Just wondering how many other flybabies are out there.... for those of you who have no clue what I am talking about, Flylady is this woman who started a group to help people get organized, clean their house and chuck their junk!

Ever since I have discovered CC, however, Flylady had been a thorn in my side since I am signing onto the computer before I am shining my sink like I am supposed to!

I looked at the FlyLady stuff and hubby said no way. He hates an extra neat home. He wants a little clutter so he feels comfy he says...lol. Okay by me less work.

Oh, don't get me wrong... I like my clutter too. But when I was 'babystepping', at least all my clutter had its place.... and my dishes were done, kitchen cleaned and for the first time ever, I was able to pull off a birthday party without a hitch! Now I am a lazy bones and have to motivation to get back to it, ya' know? 4 kids make such a huge mess! icon_cry.gif

I know how that is and I've only got two...lol. (or is that 3 if you count dh). We have a dishwasher load nearly every night so that helps us keep the kitchen halfway decent. Living room on the other hand the kids have their toys in here and it's a mess. Plus I homeschool so there is an area cluttered for it. I'm pretty lazy myself but I have been trying.

Actually, I think Cake baking and decorating are incompatible with all those routines..Blech! Who's gonna do their before bed routine when they're pulling an all-nighter for a wedding cake! Then it takes me a day and a half to get the kitchen back to normal--don't even mention the rest of the house or the laundry.

I love fly lady, but I guess so far I'm more of a Franny. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm going to have to check this stuff out! I have a neighbor who's a real neatnick and she's been salivating to get into my home! She said she'd clean it for free if I would just give her free reign.... like, NO!

I've never heard of it but it sounds like something my husband would like me to do. icon_lol.gif He grew up with a very organized mother who kept the house spotless in a rural setting with a husband who raises cows for fun while she worked full time (I think she has a mild case of OCD) icon_razz.gif . The woman goes camping and spends the entire weekend cleaning her camper and cooking. icon_rolleyes.gif I grew up in a house of 7 kids so there was always stuff somewhere and I'm just not a neat person. I'll keep the house up for a couple weeks, let it slide and then have to do a major cleaning all over again.

I'm a flybaby!!! Last year we moved into a new large house and had our 3rd baby a couple weeks later and there is no way it could have happened without Flylady. I am not perfect by any means but I do my routines and the weekly home blessing hour and it keeps my house company ready. Love Marla aka Flylady!!!!!!

So is there gonna be a daily/weekly thread here about this now? I hope so!!!

Maybe we can post time saving cleaning/organizing tips for the whole house not just the kitchen.

FLYLADY RULES!!! She has saved me from insanity as well. I found her a year ago from a pregnancy/parenting site. Guess what? There is laundry waiting to be folded and rebooted as soon as I get my Franny off CC!!! icon_biggrin.gif HA! Yeah, I pull all-nighters with cakes, too, but I always clean it up within 24 hours. My house has truly become not more than 15 minutes away from company ready. I clean as I go as much as possible when decorating. Sink of hot water, throw away cake mix boxes and powdered sugar bags as soon as they are empty, rinse KA bowl and paddle and into the dishwasher they go as soon as they are empty. Throwing away icing bags and cleaning the tips and wiping the counter always waits till morning. But we can always jump right in where we are! WE ARE NOT BEHIND!!! hee hee hee icon_lol.gif

Your MIL and I would get along GREAT!!! I clean all the time and I vacuum for fun only because I love to see the lines on my carpet. Everybody tells me that I have OCD as well. I am also a clean freak in my camper, I am constantly clenaing and sweeping it out. We took it out over Labor Day and my DH told me if I swept one more time he was gonna have to replace the floor in it, and it is only a 2002 model...HAHAHA

NOW I DO HATE laundry, I don't mind washing it but it will sit in baskets for sometimes weeks because I hate to fold it and put it away...It drives me INSANE!!! I have tried making that DH's CHORE in the house since he does nothing else around here, but it never worked out!!! So I wash it and it sits and we dig through baskets for our clothes...LOL
