No, no, you're not stupid!! Fondant has a mind of it's own. What's the weather like where you are? That may sound funny, but sometimes you'll have to add some powdered sugar if it's damp outside. Also, are you using marshmallow fondant or a pre-made fondant? Usually with the premade, I never have any trouble, but sometimes my marshmallow fondant can get sticky. Hope this helps!!
If it's too sticky, add more powdered sugar, but go easy..
Don't just dump a cup or half a bag..
Do it by spoonfulls.. keep kneading until pliable.. Coat your hand w/ Crisco lightlly before kneading... You need to knead for a good, maybe
three minutes or so... I hope that helps.. ![]()
What if the MMF is not streching at all, mine is lumping and crumbling. HELP!
Should I use water or crisco to help make it strech. I used the recipe from this website.
MMF can be revitalized very easily by popping it in the microwave until it softens and then kneed in some crisco. I usually place the MMF on press'n'seal then heat it up for 10-15 seconds, depending on the quantity. Then, keep heating at 5 second intervals until the MMF is a nice, pliable consistency. If it gets too hot and tries to liquify, just let it sit in the microwave for a little while and try again.
