How do I put ribbon on a cake with out the greasy look from the butter cream coming through?

i know alot of people put wax paper on the back to prevent the grease soaking the ribbon. i have also heard of using clear "scotch" tape on the back.

I iron wax paper on the back of the ribbon. Some use Glad Press N Seal on the back.
