i got a request for an ice cream cake, and i need some help! it will take a while to decorate the cake, and i dont want to melt the ice cream!!! any suggestions? ![]()
I know how to make them but you have to work really, really fast and deep freeze that sucker or it will melt on you. I made one once and it was really good but I kept having to refreeze it... so do it the night before so you are not in a time crunch or anything.
They are really yummy and I don't know about you but I love frozen BC ![]()
I would say keep putting it in the freezer decorate for a while and put it back in take it out and so on til its done I think there is a recipe on this site for ice cream cake.
that's what i was thinking....i just have a teeny tiny freezer in my house, and i'm afraid it might mess up the decorations....arrrr so frustrating
Ohhh, you would have to clear it out to make room otherwise it would. I am lucky enought to have an old stand freezer in the garage but it is sooo old that I have to defrost it every 2 months because it builds up a blizzards worth of frost and I am always paranoid it will get the cake wet. It also costs a bloody fortune to run so I really want to get a new, small fride just for cakes... *sigh* Well, I can dream!
Alot of people say "on the web". To use an angel food cake when making an ice cream cake.. Because "cake" will harden to much.. BUT i've made one with "cake" and it was fine. Although I only had it in the freezer long enough to freeze ice cream. Didnt leave in there all night.. Good Luck!
