hi there
i`ve perobably done about a near 10 or so wedding cakes, and i find the thing i fret most about is the deliver!!! when i do wedding cakes i try to deliver each teir separately, then just assemble the cake on site. Even still i hold my breath the whole drive there.

i usually have each tier of the wedding cake on thier own cake board
(i don`t use the separator plates because i don`t like the look of the ruffle along the bottom of the tier, plus i`ve only really have donè stacked cakes, and they seem to leave too much of a gap)

then i have each tier placed on non-skid mats in the back of my van. thats it.

can anyone please offer me ANY advice on how to deliver. i have recently just moved and everywhere is now at least 1hr away.

thanks in advance.

I put the cake tier on the cake board, then place it in a pan larger than the cake. If I don't have a larger pan for the bottom tier, I use a box. Then put them on non skid mats.

funny you mention this as i have just started delivering cakes too. i was thinking about the non skid mat... does it help you? I also want a sign for the back of my van that says slow moving and turns, cake delivery. i swear i get the finger every time! LOL
