Hi, fairly new to CC and was wondering if someone can answer a question. I am planning on putting floral wires in my fondant covered cake and need to know if i just stick the wire in or if i need to do something first.

Thanks

I would not stick floral wire in a cake without first wrapping them in something that will not harm the food, like foil, or fondant. Just something that is food approved.

Or stick a straw (filled with fondant) in first, then stick the straw in. Or use cocktail sticks instead of wire.

i put a drinking straw in the cake then fill with frosting to secure the wire.

Floral tape is very inexpensive and easy to work with. It also covers the wire well and looks natural.....it comes in green, brown and white....

I use coffee straws (stirrers) and fill them with fondant. The smaller straw leaves a smaller hole in the top of the cake.
