I am making a birthday cake with buttercream icing. How soon can I put the edible image on? The cake is for a party at 2:00 on Saturday. Can I put the image on tomorrow? Or do I need to wait until Saturday? And also should it be on before the icing crusts?

The above quote is from the cc article. I didn't know if you had seen this yet or not. Good luck.[/url]

I usually put my sheets on right after I ice my cake before it crusts, the image needs something to stick to. If your cake has already crusted, then lightly spray it with a mist and smooth with your spat so that you don't have excess water on the top, that will remoisten your cake to put your image on. You could put it on Friday PM and put in a box overnight, or if you have time on Saturday put it on then. I like to put mine on close to the time I have to have the cake ready for pick-up.

thanks. I am going to wait until the morning to decorate and put it on. I have never worked with one of these before so it is all new to me.
