Hi, my DH went today to Circuit City and came home with a persent for me!! I was so excited, BUT... he got me the Canon Pixma MP160 instead of the 130 he knew I wanted, now my question is... can I use this printer for printing my edible images, just like the MP 130?? To all the experts... please say YES!!! icon_cry.gificon_biggrin.gificon_cry.gificon_biggrin.gificon_cry.gif

Don't know...but if you don't get an answer here, go to the Icing Images website and Debbie is wonderful to answer any questions. Also....Lisa, one of the CC moderators is very well versed in edible images!

There should be NO reason that you can't use it as long as you can buy the edible ink cartridges to fit it you are in business! What a sweet thing for DH to do. I would suggest that you go to icingimages.com to find the paper and ink that you need. That's where I get mine, and I am very pleased with them.

Iknow Sugarcraft has a list of the printer models...I didn't see either of the ones you mentioned....but they may just not have updated?

Kopykake seems to believe that any Canon is suitable...you decide what kind of ink based on how many cartridges it takes...but I didn't see ANY specific model numbers mentioned.....you are probably better off calling than guessing...

If you look in articles, then to printing and edible images, then the 1st article the basics and there is a listing of cannon printers that are able to use the edible ink cartridges. GOOD LUCK!

Does it take the same size cartridges as the 130?

Crud, you could be in trouble. I am crossing my fingers for you!! I just did two cakes last night with my edible imaging printer... they are of a baby (my cousin's newborn for his baptism) and I tell you, that is worth every last penny! The hard part is cutting into it! icon_wink.gif
