I thought the "My easy chocolate Buttercream" recipe on this site was good...can't help you with design...I am not good at that.

Wilton has a simple technique for drop flowers.

They look very pretty.

I believe there are some good recipes to chose from on this site for the chocolate buttercream, if you need more I'd check the Wilton site, Ladycakes.com, Baking 911, AllRecipes.com or a good cake book....

The drop flowers, should be "a piece of cake" ha ha!!!, anyway...perhaps you would have the frosting in a deep semisweet chocolate buttercream and have the drop flowers in a milk chocolate buttercream. I can picture the cake with 49 centered on top done in drop flowers, a border with drop flowers and drop flowers close together around the sides. You could put a small contrasting center maybe in the dark chocolate again on each flower...

Well here is the finished product. The lady called back and wanted the drop flowers covering the entire cake side by side. It turned out okay, but far away youcan't even tell it is flowere. The my easy chocolate buttercream icing is so simple and delicous. Thanks again for everyones great ideas!!
