Ok, had someone interested in the pillow cake with crown I had made. (picture is in my pics) I told her it would be $65. I thought she was going to choke!!! Was I out of line? I thought that was still a pretty good deal?? I don't want to scare people off, but I don't want to do it for nothing either.

Thanks.

I don't think $65 is too much at all! It takes a long time to do sculpted cakes even if it is small. I do a lot of sculpted cakes and they are a LOT of work. I usually charge $3 per serving, and a minimum of $75.

I sometimes feel that ALL of my cake prices are set to high, but when I made the price list my husband and I sat down and went through each cake to include time, batter, frosting, etc and priced accordingly but it still feels like I charge too much ... but I dont want to do cakes for nothing either ... it is a hard line to walk!

It's worth every penny. I use to be one who would choke at cake prices until I started making them. Now I know better icon_wink.gif

Thanks everyone. I think I'll stick with the $65 and not worry about it!!! icon_razz.gif
