I was so embarassed to open the box in front of the customer and see THIS!

I bet that was horrible! However, the re-do looks great! I had a situation where a customer came to pick up a cake and it cracked for some reason. Luckily...I still had some yellow icing and was able to fix it for her!
Did the customer like the redo? Do you know what made the icing fall off? Anyway...for such a disaster...you turned it around really well!

RR tracks can be a pain, that's why I always always slow down to 25 mph when I go over the really bumpy ones, don't need my car's suspension going out on me or have a cake go flying... and I pass over a set of really really bumpy ones every day I go to work.
Wow, you did a great repair job. That had to be a major jolt to your system to open the box and see your cake looking like that! How fortunate it was only the sides that were damaged, you obviously kept your cool and did a great fix-up, it looks as good or better after the repair! Janice
Delivering cakes is the worst part!!! Good recovery though! The next car I buy is going to have the best shocks and supension i can find!!
She was ok with the re-do. She did like the fudge drips but I think that's what made the top so heavy, combined with the 90 degree heat of the day in my trunk, plus the tracks that I obviously took too fast!! (unfamiliar tracks).
I thought I'd have a stroke right then and there but with God's mercy, I fixed it rather easily! I also added more powdered sugar to the leftover chocolate buttercream that I luckily had!
I also left it sit in a warm room so that when it went back out, it wouldn't sweat or anything. I will see her tomorrow to see if it made it to the event! Poor girl had to pick up the second one so I gave her the money back - but she split it with me instead. What a horrible day!
Alls well that ends well. 
well, hold your head high-you did a fantastic job and were very gracious to give her money back because she picked up the redo-I have alot of people that come to pick up theres-seems to be easier for them so I don't complain. I do deliver some so it works both ways...
