Hi everyone,

First of all I just want to thank everyone for the wonderful info and tips I have received here at CC. I love this place!!

I have to bake a 3D cuddley bear for a customer for tomorrow. My question is they want it in strawberry. I think I read on here somewhere that I need to mix some type of pound cake with the regular cake mix?

Is that right? I am sorta pressed on time since it was a last minute order and I dont really have time for a trial and error type of baking experiment so I was hoping someone here has some tips on the 3D baking

Thanks
Nicole

This is probably too late but you are correct. You mix a pound cake mix with a regular cake mix. You need 6 2/3 cups of batter. 6 cups in the bear and 2/3 c in the core.

No its not too late....I am not baking it for another hour or so. Should I add pudding to the mix? And how long should I bake it for?

You bake it for 50 to 60 minutes. I used a pound cake mix and a regular cake mix and mixed it just like the box instructions state. I don't know if you should add pudding to it, I never have. The instructions say not to overbake.

Thanks cupcake55! I see you are from the Kansas City Area. I live in Burlington Ks. Just a couple hours from there. Small world huh. Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my 3D cuddley bear turned out GREAT!!!! I used a strawberry cake mix and a pound cake mix together. I did end up using the heating core. I just coated the whole bear and the core with extra cake release and the bear slipped out of the mold very easily. The core plug also slipped right out and was a perfect fit right inside the bear.

I was very skeptical about making this bear due to the fact that so many people have so many different opinions on using the core vs. not using it and so forth but I found it to be a very easy cake to make. AND FUN TOO!!!!!

Thanks,
Nicole
